Offset printing is particularly suitable for delicate screen vignettes and images. Our broad range of machinery is equipped for small and large print runs alike. Various finishing options are available for our labels, e.g. hot foil embossing.
We have two different offset printing methods at our disposal, both of which are indirect flat printing methods. In wet offset printing, the flat printing plate and its water-attracting and -repelling elements is being moistened with dampening water. The inking unit transfers the colour onto the moistened printing plate. Only those parts of the printing plate that have not absorbed any water due to its repellent properties are coloured. The colour is first being transferred onto an offset blanket cylinder before it is transferred further onto the substrate. Direct contact to the substrate would disturb the colour-water equilibrium. The advantage of this technique is the precise colour control as well as the use of various special colours.
The second method we apply for our offset labels is the dry offset printing process. Here, a firm layer of silicons is added to the non-printing areas of the printing plate. Therewith, the entire dampening unit of the printing machine can be spared. The inking unit is equipped with an anilox roll similar to flexographic printing. This allows for very even distribution of colour over the entire production range. This method ensures that repetitive orders can be printed fast and material-saving.
